  Canon Aptex Inc. (Former) Copyer Co., Ltd (Former)
1920
1923 Maruboshi Shouten is founded in Tsukiji, Chuo-ku Tokyo.
1924 Manufactures the A-Type Blueprint machine, the first of its kind in Japan.
1930
1938 Opens its new plant in Mitaka, Tokyo.
1940
1945 Maruboshi Kika Kogyo K.K. is founded in Akasaka Minato-ku, Tokyo.
1950
1953 Dai-ichi Seiki Kogyo Co.,Ltd.(original company name), is founded in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, to design and manufacture movie equipment.
1951 Develops its M-Type diazo copying machine, the world's first desktop, moisture-type diazo copying machine.
1960
1962 Development and manufacture of automated microfilm processing machines commences.
1961 Changes its name to Copyer Co., Ltd. The Company lists on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange Market.
1970
1972 Canon Inc. invests in the Company.
1974 Begins marketing the SELEX-900, its first PPC (plain paper copier).
1979 Canon Inc. invests in the Company.

1983 The Ibaraki Plant opens in Mitsukaido, Ibaraki. Manufacture of paper-handling devices for copying machines starts.
1985 Moves its head office to Mitsukaido, Ibaraki.
1987 Sets up a research division and begins marketing paper-handling devices to companies outside the Canon Group.
